This is puzzling to me now.
As i read this,i checked my recent 2 summaries....normal non-weekend is 475k per night for deluxe room,weekend there is a surcharge of 50k/night. I think that chap from Batam center is pocketing the extras he charge you. Ramadan effect at work? Walk-in also not that highly priced in Formosa.
Hmm....will comment more on your other parts of your FR in another day while i do some research.

Hehehe...i tht in China main stream big city,men arent allow to take the front seat?
Men are only allow to take the back seat and be locked in like a car-jail with payment thru a small window-like metal bar from the back seat. Back seat car doors are usually locked until payments are done. When i was with my gf in Guangzhou,my girl has to take the front seat while my other male friend and me has to take the back seat.
