By not standing up, cheongsters unfamiliar with the house/girls cannot gauge the girls height and figure.
Walkers usually will be ogled by guys first, and might entice guys with their height, the way they stand or sway, talk and flirt.
The lack of ability to guage probably one reason that discourages first timers to GL, and they flock to other avenues.
This forum helps somewhat, but nothing beats visual.
