Thumbs up Bullshit of the day: S’pore could suffer if foreign managers return home

An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:

From The Real Singapore:
Quote:
I refer to the article “Biggest cost of global city status is to our identity” (June 11).

Mr Henry Tan Seng Lee said the ratio of Singaporeans to non-Singaporeans is 3:2.

It would be unsurprising should this come at a cost to our national identity, should non-Singaporeans living here eventually leave when prospects in their home countries improve.

At the same time, local graduates who encounter problems entering the workforce here might decide to work overseas, resulting in a brain drain, aggravating the problems brought about by our ageing population.

Those who stay might face a lack of opportunities to develop their skills.

Should the day come when non-Singaporean professionals leave, Singapore could suffer from a shortfall in skilled middle- and upper-level managers in our workforce.

Chua Kim Choo

*Letter first appeared on TODAY, Voices (16, June)...

Must be one of those FTsh writing to warn about dire consequences if FTsh were to leave SG. What kind of bullshit? SG started off with nothing, no resources, no FTsh and yet the country became rich. FTsh came in as leeches, parasites. If they were that good, why did they choose a tiny island? They should be in white men's countries, not a God forsaken island. Leave by all means and SG will still survive.
