I think one possibility is that sis is ovulating, especially if the discharge is in between menstrual cycle.

Of course, lesser worry if it is odourless. No harm getting a doctor's opinion.

Let me add on to bro ddog and others:

If it is ovulation period (not infection) then examine the colour and thickness of the mucous. If it is cloudy and thick and if you have sex, then high chances to get a girl. If it is transparent and clear and sticky like the egg white, chances will be a boy. This is according to Dr Belling, who came out with her famous ovulation method of natural birth control. Usually the thick and cloudy will occur for a few days (about 3 to 5) first, followed by the clear transparent one, which may last from a day to two or three (depending on individuals - if you want to be accurate, you have to chart your cycle for at least 3 months to determine a pattern). After this clear mucous is gone, it will be followed by dryness till your period. During this time, it is generally safe period. Google Belling Method and you will get more info.
