Shedding Light On Singapore's Freelancing Industry
Names & identities will be altered for discretion purposes.
This is not fiction. I've been a member here since 19th July 2016, occasionally logging in to watch and view stuff for leisure. Never really thought of posting anything because of the various reasons the internet brings with it these days, but this was something I felt strongly compelled to do. I got to know my girlfriend, Melissa, during our university days, we initially focused on our studies most of the time, and only got closer to each other during our later years in the institution. We enjoyed each other's company and gradually became a couple, but it wasn't without its own set of challenges. Like any other couple, we started slow with kissing, etc, and gradually progressed to the heavier stuff like petting and ultimately, sex itself. It was only after around 4 months before we became sexually active. We were both each other's firsts and were in a stable, exclusive relationship. Only in our early 20s, fresh out of university, we went on our own individual paths to begin our careers, I, chose a very generic executive role in the central business district, while she, chose to troll the friendly skies as an air stewardess. Although her degree would be ultimately useless in that role, she was effectively earning almost 1.5x what I earned on a monthly basis due to the comprehensive remuneration package her company had in place. I could make no complaints about that. To say the least, we were financially okay and surviving paycheck to paycheck despite being fresh graduates, savings were little, but quite okay, considering its Singapore. When the Covid19 situation struck the world in December 2019, everyone took a major hit, especially the aviation industry, where tons and tons of flights were grounded, cancelled, or postponed. For those who are aware, flight stewardess or flight attendants, earn the bulk of their monthly remuneration from flight allowances, or basically to put it simply, they get nothing but their basic salary or less, if they don't fly, and that is a very very humble sum. As the situation evolved rapidly, staff were placed on leave, no pay leave, etc, and it only got bad to worst. With the on-going need for cash flow on a daily basis for loan repayments, daily expenses, bills, etc, she had no choice but seek a different option, fast. As a couple, we occasionally browsed the forum together, and it must have been one of those times where she had chanced upon the local domes and remembered it existed. To cut things short, she had consulted a close friend of hers on the matter instead of coming to me first for obvious reasons, and had met the pimp, or the boss in charge of the 'company' for a discussion about the job/work in person, before she came to me. |

Interesting. Sounds like one of ilocks story
If she had been "interviewed" by the pimp, than she would have already given her free trial. Can smell a nice story brewing |

A real pimp won't try their own girls. Will complicate matters. They'll get someone else to try instead.

Re: Shedding Light On Singapore's Freelancing Industry
I sometimes talk cock with my regular agent over text.
One time he told me he had complaints about one lady as she has a bad C section scar - he only meets them face to face in a public place n doesn't bonk his own merchandise, so he didn't know. He had to move the girl out, managed to find her another job. |

Re: Shedding Light On Singapore's Freelancing Industry
Firstly, I was glad she was open about it and did not at any time think about doing anything funny behind my back, but on another note, I was quite affected by the whole discussion we had, that lasted one whole night.
We weighed the pros and cons, discussed the practicality of things, in no other different way like how we would work on a final year project. Not joking. But in all seriousness, she convinced me that it was only temporary and there were not much choices out there, given the terrible job market during this pandemic, that paid that kind of money. My salary wasn't sufficient as well to upkeep both parties, especially with the extremely unhelpful pay cut of 30% I was enduring due to the Covid19 situation. To put things in perspective, she would go on to charge $500 for an hour's work, with the agent taking a 30% commission, which meant she'd get $350 per hour's work, and to put it in context, that is a lot of money for a fresh graduate like her, or for the matter, us. Then came the job scope, on paper, they're labelled as social escorts, and when I did my research, everywhere that implied that term, promoted no sex, and if happened, was a mutually agreeable act by the 2 parties involved, mainly the social escort, and the client, and the agency would be 'unaware', and would be able to therefore absolve all responsibilities etc from the deed/arrangement. But we all knew, it involved sex. Melissa wasn't drop dead hot, or anywhere near that, but she was decent, pleasant, and had taken care of her figure/weight/looks because of her previous job, where they placed tip top emphasis on all those nitty gritty details. I wouldn't be posting any photographs for obvious reasons, but to paint a picture, she was about 1.6m, 45kg, and had a 34B. She was petite. When she met the agent, she was told that a rough estimate on clients would be around 1-2 clients per day on average, but on good days(like at the end of the month where everyone got their salary), the number might go up to 5. This was crazy. Period. But because of the attractiveness of the money, she decided to go for it. To put things in perspective, if we count it as 1 client/day, that would mean $350/day, and also $10,500/month, after the agent's commission, so yes, if you think that's not good money, I rest my case. But yes, we knew the risks, we knew what we were getting ourselves into, we knew the cons. Before she officially started work, her agent met her again to draft out the details, like having the need for a new/prepaid contact number, the Dos and Donts while meeting a client, the ground rules, details for the transferring of commission, photograph taking, what were her working hours, etc. |
