Do hotels ask for ID for a few hours stay?

Hi folks,

I just would like to ask you if the hotels here in Singapore (81, and other chains) ask for ID or anything for a few hours stay there? I am a foreigner in Singapore and currently holding a student pass from a local university and I'd like to bring my FBs out to hotel. Homes are not so convenient from time to time.

(P.S: I'd appreciate if you guys can recommend good places to go as well)

Re: Do hotels ask for ID for a few hours stay?

A stay in any hotel in SG requires for ID to be provided during registration.
The length of stay doesnt matter with regards to this.

Do take note of that bro.

Re: Do hotels ask for ID for a few hours stay?

Answer 1 : yes they do. There is no shame in registering. It's not a crime. But you might want to be sure your gf/wife don't find out that you are a long time member. H81 automatically gives you some lame membership and gives you a $10 discount, so make sure your gf does not notice this and ask you how come you are a member.

Answer 2 : Many bros here favor Hotel 81 because the rooms are small and clean ( mostly ), and many of them charge oni 20 per 2 hours ( some charge 30 ), and most importantly, they are everywhere. In town, in GL, in Chinatown, etc. Very convenient.

Re: Do hotels ask for ID for a few hours stay?

Folks,

Thank you for your answers. So basicallyy ID being a student pass will not pose any problems at all when I book a hotel at an 81 or other chains for a few hours.

Only one of my FBs is a local but others came from other Asian countries and so using their ID would be same as using mine.

Thank you for answering.

No problem as long as it is a formal ID.
If in doubt, can always bring your passport as backup.

Usually for foreigner they may want to see your passport. Be prepare. Also note that they will collect $10 non refundable deposit as member fee.

Wow, envy you having so many FBs, mind sharing with us.

Re: Do hotels ask for ID for a few hours stay?

hotels in geylang usually have 1 hour transit rates. usually it's $10. you should go to lor 8 or 10, there are plenty of cheap hotels there.
