Officials and members of the public pay tribute to the war dead on Remembrance Sunday (Nov 13) at Kranji War Memorial.

SINGAPORE: A remembrance ceremony was held on Sunday morning (Nov 13) at the Kranji War Memorial to pay tribute to those whose lives were sacrificed in the two world wars and subsequent wars that followed.

Remembrance Sunday is commemorated in the United Kingdom and countries in the Commonwealth.
It is held on the Sunday closest to Nov 11, the date of Armistice Day, which marks the end of the First World War.

Leading the tribute in Singapore was British High Commissioner Scott Wightman and Commander Andy Lamb.
The service was organised by the British High Commission in partnership with the Singapore Armed Forces Veterans’ League.
It was also attended by the diplomatic corps, the military, representatives of the main religious groups as well as the public.
