I personally feel, police and vice are on the same circle, sort of the yin-yang, if you may.
If there's no vice, where got need for police? if no police, the vice would overrun.
i feel that government is aware of such practices, but given the problems it had generated in the past (not much serious crimes i believe), the government had decided to keep these vices on a leash and allow them to operate.
if a covid case never happened, things wouldn't have been exposed, and everything would be fine..

Once we decided to build 2 casinos here, we need to back it up by entertainments - which include 色情场所！ it comes in a package . It’s multimillion industry MP + Freelancers- even though some monies exported - it still benefits the financial services etc . Our gahman are smarter than we think.

Our govt is like a grandparent who wants to be called "gong gong" or "mah mah" but don't want the noise and rowdiness caused by the grandchildren.
It shows that it really depends on whether the government wants to clamp down hard on the vice activities.
I don't think we will be surprised if the government takes pre-emptive or reactive initiatives to clamp down on the other non-viet MLs just to appease the general public.
Those MLs who still have public listings are quite vulnerable as further info about them can be obtained easily through telcos, etc.
I do not want to sound cruel since these ML's are human like us and need to make a living but this is a good time as any to force down the rates for those overpriced $68/$88 MP.
You can see many ML's complain of not a single customer a day and it shows that massage is not a necessity and we can do without it.
When the covid numbers goes down , we should unite as consumers to avoid those places that charge above $50 for massage and teach these greedy owners not to overprice their services at the expense of both the girls and customers.
