Very uncomfortable burning sensation

Dear brothers, for the paSt 2 weeks I have been experiencing a very weird and uncomfortable burning sensation when I pee. I need to visit the toilet every 1-2hours, but only pee a very little amount everytime. The feeling is also like I want to bomb, but everytime I sit down on the toilet bowl, it's only just pee...these few days I haven't been able to sleep well bcos I keep having the urge to go pee...it's hard to control and always seem very urgent..what kind of disease is this? And can I go to a normal GP for help? Pls advise me..thanks!

Re: Very uncomfortable burning sensation

Most likely Urinal Infection. Try Cranberry Juice, it will help you pass urine better. Go to GP and get a blood test for STD.

Re: Very uncomfortable burning sensation

Like the bro above says, possible Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)
Cranberry juice or pills might help.

If it doesnt help, do get another further check.
Was there any risky activity before this happened?

Re: Very uncomfortable burning sensation

Ok thanks..how much does a test usually cost? I didn't have any risky interactions other than with my wife. Prior to my condition the only one was a one night with an ex-girlfriend, it was about a month ago before I experienced these discomforts

UTI or Gonorrhea. Don't delay. See a doctor. A GP will do fine.

Re: Very uncomfortable burning sensation

Bro, I dont want to alarm you but I think you should go and see either your GP or better still a urologist urgently. It sounds to me from your symptoms that you have a prostate problem. Men don't get UTIs.

I had similar problems about 6 months ago. A frequent, urgent need to pee, a burning sensation in the head of my penis and relatively little urine when I did go. It turned out I had Benign Prostate Hyperplasia - an enlarged prostate. I'm 47 so I was coming up to the age (normally around 50) when it usually occurs.

BPH is easily treatable but the symptoms are also similar to more serious diseases. Don't waste time.

I highly recommend Dr. Michael Wong of the Singapore Urology Centre at Mount E. He treated me and is very competent. Google his office and make an appointment ASAP.

Re: Very uncomfortable burning sensation

I had similar problem bro- comes with the cheong territory.

Didn't waste time with GP - headed straight to get 'cleaned up' by the infection specialist doctor at gleneagles top floor- given a jab/pills and clean bill of health after.

Money well spent for good peace of mind.

Play safe now

Men DO GET UTI but not as often as women.

But you're right about not wasting time to get it checked out ASAP.

Better early than late.

Re: Very uncomfortable burning sensation

Thanks all bros for your replies. I have tried drinking lots of cranberry juice, yes it helped abit to a small extent I dont feel uncomfortable at night anymore nor woke up in the middle of the night for toilet visits. But everyday when I wake up and go to work, the problem persists. I don't dare to visit a private GP as I'm afraid the medical fees will be expensive. Very broke now, may I know if a POLYCLINIC doctor would be able to help me? Thank you all and very sorry for the trouble and sorry I didn't heed advice to visit the doc ASAP...........

Go and see any GP, Polyclinic or DSC doctor quickly do not delay. Just tell him/her your story - what U mentioned here. Probably urinary infection (very common for woman - not man) or STD. No need test. Just one round of antibiotics will do. About $30 for GP, Polyclinic about $10 cheaper. Get medicine for your wife also (just pay for antibiotic - wife need not see doc) from doc. Tell her it is urinary infection (not STD!!). Doc will also advise U what to do. You can also call DSC hotline for advice: http://www.dsc-sexualhealth.com.sg/. All the best.

Dear all, I just visited the GP, most probably is inner urinal tract infection he said.. Will be on medication for 2 weeks. And for your info, he said cranberry juice doesn't help much for men, only works more effectively for women.. It's a tad helpful for me though..hope everything gets better! Thank u all for yr help
